Welcome, welcome! I’ve blogged before, but not in such a public way, so I’m a little nervous. Perhaps if I tell you WHY I’m doing this, I’ll feel less nervous…..NOT! I tend to carry a low level of anxiety around with me about 50% of the time. But, I digress….
I want to share my fitness efforts and goals with you. I know I share on Facebook, but I think a blog will give me an opportunity to explain, share, discuss my motivation in more detail. With that, I hope to inspire and motivate others.
Back in mid January 2011, I started with a goal to work out 3 times per week. Now, I’ve been active almost all of my life. Sometimes very active and sometimes not so active. I finally got to the point where I just wanted to be healthy. Being healthy to me does not mean being THIN. My definition of being healthy is a combination of things……heart health, good cholesterol, active, good food choices, etc. I told myself when I began this new journey that even if I stayed a plus size, that I wanted to be a HEALTHLY plus size. There is nothing wrong with curves.
So, back to mid January 2011…….let’s just say I’ve kept with and EXCEEDED that goal!!! I have been working out regularly for over a year! It’s not always easy, and my motivation levels rise and fall, but I’m doing it and feel damned good about it! In fact, I’ve lost 25 pounds during the course of that year. Now, it’s time to step it up and lose a few more pounds. I like to work in 5 pound increments – it’s less intimidating that way.
