Saturday morning zumba is the most automatic of my workouts. It is RARE that I skip it just because. Preparing for Saturday morning zumba is kinda of zen-like for me. Alarm goes off, I snooze a couple of times, and finally get up. Pick out the workout gear. Yes, I’m matchy – didn’t get the nickname Flashdance while auditioning for the dance team in college for nothin’! Then, it’s on to breakfast and getting in the right mindspace for the class. It’s quiet in my house during this time, so it’s very nice.
I typically eat light before working out. I absolutely cannot eat a heavy meal anywhere near a workout – that’s just asking for me to be nauseous and feel like a rock. Breakfast this morning is toast with peanutbutter, a smidge of honey and thinly sliced banana. I’m getting protein and potassium! Way to go, Me!
Back to the automatic part. Working out has become fairly automatic to me. It’s a part of my life schedule, and that’s what I wanted. Don’t get me wrong, I love sitting on my ass just like anyone else, but I feel better when I get my workouts in. Isn’t that really the point? Well, one of many……
