I decided a long time ago that the word fail or failure would not be in my vocabulary when it came to my fitness and weight loss goals. Failure is an ugly word when it comes to fitness and weight loss. It should NEVER be used! I prefer the following terms: off day, bad food day, missed work out, etc. As long as you are committed to a lifestyle CHANGE and are HONEST with YOURSELF, you cannot fail.
*stepping down from soapbox*
So, why this particular post? I’ve had a not so good couple of weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve worked out – not as much as I usually do, but I’ve worked out. Working out is a success. I’ve had bad food days. The food was super delicious, but probably not what I needed to eat in rapid succession. LOL! I believe that you can eat what you want, but you either have to exercise portion control or burn more calories. I didn’t burn all of those super delicious food calories. However, I refuse to beat myself up about. Oh, I thought about some mental torture, some mental self-loathing, some mental abuse, but WHY?!? I’m absolutely a success! I’ve been working out regularly for OVER a year, my clothes fit looser, my stamina is awesome……look at all of the successes I have under my belt.
What I’m trying to tell those of you who are on your own personal fitness and weight loss journeys is to cut yourself some slack. Beating yourself up about a bad food day or missing a workout is not beneficial!!!! We are human and prone to certain indulgences. (Indulgences, people…..never set backs!) You pick yourself up and hop back to it. No worries.
I will dust my willpower back off. Clearly my willpower needed a quick break. Just a break though. A break for the willpower only. My workouts didn’t cease and desist! *grin* It’s a brand new week, and I’m ready for it!
OH! I almost forgot!!!! I bought a new dress this weekend, and it is a size DOWN!!!! The size I normally would’ve gotten looked huge on me! I’m SO excited! If I can get a good picture of me in it, I will post it. Go ME!
