Remember when I had a ridiculous sinus infection? No? Well, it was back in September, and apparently, I had been walking around with a serious sinus infection for quite sometime. Bring in the steroids and antibiotics! Needless to say, I got off track with my workouts.
Fast forward a little to last week. Started feeling crappy again. Didn’t feel up to working out. So, I decided to take some time off to rest and figured I’d make an appointment just to be sure it was nothing serious. Sinuses. AGAIN! I suffer from allergies. To what, I don’t know. Bring round #2 of antibiotics and add a daily allergy pill.
Now, the silver lining in ALL of that is that now I know what I’m dealing with. It’s not the flu or strep or walking pneumonia. It’s allergies. I can deal with that.
On October 22, I had my first session back with G. It had been a little bit. He was moving away from the gym and doing his own thing, and I was working on my cardio with zumba and suffering from allergies. So, now we’re back! Last night, I had my 4th weekly session, and for some reason I found it to be brutal! I swear I wanted to cry. My mind wasn’t right. The week before, I was a beast! Mind over matter, baby! G has me kickboxing like a pro! He even had me buy my own gloves which I love having, by the way. I’m considering a stand-alone heavy bag for the house.
Overall, I’m feeling good (again) and ready to get back to the 3-4 times a week routine that I had been sticking by for so long. I’ve surprised myself by maintaining my strength when I didn’t feel strong at all. The body remembers.
