Tomorrow will be the end of my 10th week with AIP! Wow. It almost seems normal to me now. Almost be the key word in that sentence.
I did try one reintroduction this past Sunday. Tequila. Yep, I said tequila. With lots of ice and 100% orange juice that I brought to the bar with me. It was a “special” occasion, so I chose to try it. I don’t believe I had a reaction to it! I mean, I was a bit sluggish, but I think that is due to lack of sleep. Other than that, no issues. Now, I’m not going to go out and starting drinking it up, but it’s good to know that I can have a cocktail occasionally if I want to.
I didn’t reintroduce anything else at all this week because I wanted to be very sure that I wasn’t having a reaction to the tequila. Now, I just need to figure what I want to try adding back in during week 11! Rice maybe? Pepper would be a good one! Or perhaps a glass of red wine. So many choices!
So, in the Facebook group, AIP for You and Me, I asked some of the members what they reintroduced first. Apparently, egg yolks are a popular reintroduction. When I reintroduce eggs, I’m going to get them from my sister. Her chickens are free range and organically fed. I may have more luck with eggs from the country! One member said that she couldn’t eat tomatoes or CHEESE!!! What the….?!?! Tomatoes? I just started eating tomatoes a few years ago and love their versatility. I would LOVE some red sauce for my zoodles. Yes, I know there’s Nomato Sauce, but the prep and cook time involved compared to how much I like it, isn’t really worth it to me. And don’t even get me started on ketchup. I LOVE ketchup and have had to do without. I buy ketchup and COSTCO, for heaven’s sake.
Sorry, I’m rambling.
Anyway, for those of you reading my blog and considering AIP for whatever reason, I say go for it! IT IS WORTH IT! Of course, research, ask questions, find someone else that is doing it, all of that!
Have a great weekend!
