Didn’t I say I was going to write more? My last post was in June. Time just gets away from me. I have PLENTY of thoughts, but don’t get in here to write. Anyway….
I had a conversation with a friend yesterday that really made me stop and think. WE ARE IN CONTROL OF OUR HEALTH!!! Yes, sometimes we need the help of professionals – many times we need the help of professionals, but ultimately, if it’s food or exercise that will make the difference, WE ARE IN CONTROL! There are people out there that are really sick, and it may be due to years of not caring for ourselves.
RECAP: Probably 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. It’s an autoimmune disease. I didn’t know how to fix it. The doctors weren’t listening, and I had to take my health into my own hands. I did it. March 29, 2015, I started AIP. I was successful. Then, I fell of the wagon and started with the “I can have a little of this and a little of that” knowing full well that I wasn’t going to stop at a little. So, with that said, I regressed. Not completely. 95% of what I cook is still AIP compliant. It’s the little side trips to 7-11 and Wawa. Yes, I’m telling on myself. It has to be done.
How do I know not being as compliant as possible makes a difference? I know my body. I’m a little more sluggish. I don’t sleep as much or as well as I should. My allergies bother me more. My allergies are almost nonexistent when I eat what I’m supposed to eat. My joints hurt more. I could go on….
I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY HEALTH! That is the point I’m truly trying to make. It’s not difficult, but it takes willpower and self control. I have those things, but I got lazy. But I need to get UNlazy. I don’t like that I seemed to relinquish my control to cravings and because it was easy. So, ME and ME alone is responsible.
Don’t wait until you get a horrible wake up call, and if you get that wake up call, ACT!!! Don’t wait to get multiple calls. I know I’ve been lucky when it comes to my health, and I plan to take advantage of that.
